Hinton Haunted House 2001

New to the Haunt in 2001 was this facade.
The disassembly process in 2000 was not kind
to the original Haunt face. This improved version stands
twenty feet tall.

Without the people (two shown here) who guide visitors
through the Haunted House, it would be impossible
to move 900 guests through ten rooms (and a
maze) in six hours. They usually have some
pretty good stories at the end of the night...

The man with a chainsaw...

Even though you have heard the
chainsaw scream twenty times during
your eighty - minute wait...

The chainsaw runner is some
seriously scary stuff.

This man comes from out of
nowhere, starts the saw, and "gently moves the
 guests along their way."

He continually finds a new approach
to this scene, as well as the stamina needed
to run his room for hours on end.

During intermission he entertains guests
waiting in line outside the haunt. Talk about dedication..

A graveyard scene graced the Hinton
Haunted House in 2001.

The designers/operators of this
scene spent countless hours
getting everything "just right."

Their efforts paid off...
The Graveyard looked great.

Imagine being trapped in this room...
A strobe light makes it nearly impossible
to SEE, let alone find the hidden exit.

This prop looked great under Blacklight.

The high quality mask/head slowly
oscillates side to side.
The "foam" had an eerie blue glow.

Add a soundtrack, and you have a
perfect stand - alone prop.

In the Hinton Haunted House, this is the
solution man. Not only is he in charge
of maze layout and assembly, he also designs
and operates his own room.

( I think he just likes scaring people...)

Hinton Haunted House 2001 made the front page of the local paper.
How cool is that...

( Note to self... take more pictures next year...)
