Hinton Haunted House
It wasn't always the grand production the city of Webster, Florida
has grown to love. It started small, and
over the years good publicity and word of
mouth brought attendance from a
humble 200 visitors in 1995, to
nearly 900 visitors in 2001.
Mr. Hinton started this annual event to help bring the community
together. The Hinton Haunted House was used as a fund raising
event, with the proceeds used to aid in the development
of a Community Center.
Local families had a safe place to celebrate the Holiday.
![]() During the first three years of
operation, admission to the
Hinton Haunted House was free.
Over the years, the cost has risen.
A tour of the 2001 Haunt would
have cost you $1.00 (50 cents if you
were young enough.)
The people involved in the development of this Haunted
House always find new ways to amaze me.
Considering the annual budget for props, masks, make-up,
and sets is almost nothing, this Haunted House is a
true work of art every year.
