May 13, 2003 - Completed Ambush Prop Torso projects.

Daylight photos were shot  in indirect sunlight.
Night time photos were shot using a 20 watt narrow beam pinspot fixture (white)
illuminated from below - aimed at the center of the chest.

The photos above show the Red Ambush prop. As usual, my "night time" photograpy
skills fall short of professional, but you get the idea.

The photos above show the Brown Ambush prop at completion.
Loose woven burlap (landscape grade) was fashioned into a tunic of sorts.
A belt made of braided sisal rope keeps this layer from looking too much like a robe.
Cheesecloth and sheer black material are added as accent pices to the costume.

Finally, the photos above showcase the White Ambush Prop.
The bottom layer of clothing is a polyester material. I suppose it's semi-sheer.
It tears easiely, but doesn't fray very well. A sash made of cheesecloth is
used to hide the transition between the body and the bottom garment layer.
This prop may wind up with white or light gray hair.

As with the other props, sheer black material was used to disguise the seams on both arms.
The hands were wrapped with sisal twine, and several strands were left long.

While not obvious in these photos, the costumes were "aged"
with alternating airbrushed layers of translucent brown and black paint.
The intent was to simulate staining and shadow effects.
